Edible Cookie Dough

It’s come to my attention that some people have been making my Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe purely to eat the dough – you know who you are  – so I thought I would just go ahead and write up a recipe specifically for an edible cookie dough! I did tweak my cookie recipe a bit for a softer dough, but honestly you can’t go wrong with an edible cookie dough. So long as it tastes good, you are pretty much good to go on this one!

What you’ll need:
– 1 cup butter, room temp (8 ounces)
– 3/4 cup white sugar (150 grams)
– 1 cup brown sugar (200 grams)
– 1 Tablespoon vanilla
– ¼ cup milk
– 2 cups flour (240 grams)
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup chocolate chips

What you’ll do:
– Cream butter and sugars together until light in color and fluffy
– Beat in milk along with the vanilla and salt.
– Mix in half the flour until just combined, then mix in the remaining flour.
– Fold in chocolate chips.
– Portion into individual bowls for serving and ENJOY!

A few notes:
– If you are concerned about eating raw flour, you can kill any potential bacteria by heating it in the microwave in 30 second intervals until it’s temperature comes to 160F. Just make sure you cool it back down to room temperature before mixing it in with the remaining ingredients.
– This makes quite a bit of dough so if you don’t want to eat it all right away you can portion it out onto a baking sheet (a cookie scoop will give you equal pieces), freeze, and then transfer to a freezer safe container or baggie.
