Hazelnut Brownies with Nutella

Calling all Nutella lovers to drop what they are doing and make these brownies ASAP!

These brownies are loaded with toasted hazelnuts and Nutella! The recipe also calls for you to brown your butter, which really drives home that hazelnut flavor. If you are a Nutella connoisseur, then do yourself a favor and add these brownies to your must bake list!

What you’ll need:
– 1 cup butter
– 1/2 cup Nutella (148g)
– 1 cup sugar (200g)
– 1/2 cup brown sugar (100g)
– 1 T vanilla
– 3 eggs
– 1 t salt
– 1 1/2 cups flour (180g)
– 1/4 cup cocoa powder (20g)
– 1/2 cup hazelnuts, toasted

What you’ll do:
– Melt butter in a pan over medium/high heat. Once melted, stir continuously until browned. Pour over Nutella and let sit for a couple minutes.
– Preheat your oven to 350F and line a square baking dish with parchment.
– Whisk Nutella and browned butter together to make sure it is fully combined. Whisk in sugars.
– Whisk in eggs one at a time, then whisk in vanilla.
– Combine dry ingredients and whisk into chocolate mix.
– Fold in hazelnuts, reserving to top brownies with if desired.
– Pour into lined baking dish and bake 45 minutes.
– Allow to cool completely before cutting. Drizzle with melted Nutella and hazelnuts if desired.
– ENJOY!

A few tips:
– If you’ve never browned butter before, I promise it’s much easier than you think! But here is a video if you want to see a quick demo to brown your butter.
– This recipe calls for a fairly conservative amount of nuts in the recipe, but feel free to add in more if you like nuts to be more prominent in your brownies!
– It can be a bit tricky to tell if these are done since they are pretty fudgy. I personally like to do a temp check and make sure they are at at least 185F.
– If you cut into these while they are still hot, they will definitely appear under baked. If you want a crisp edged cut, try to let them cool for as long as you can stand. Typically I pop mine into the fridge for a couple hours.
