French Toast
Growing up, one of the few recipes my mom had up her sleeve was her French Toast recipe. It was so yummy and I was always so impressed that it didn’t come out of the freezer section at the grocery store.
Now that I’ve tried my hand at it, I’m realizing that it’s actually a bit easier than pancakes and just as delicious!
What you’ll need:
– 3 eggs
– 3/4 cup milk
– 1 Tablespoon vanilla
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– butter, as needed
– 9 thinly sliced pieces of French bread
What you’ll do:
– Heat a large pan over medium high heat.
– Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
– Once the griddle is hot, add about a Tablespoon of butter to the pan, using a spatula to push it around and cover the surface.
– Dip your bread, one piece at a time, into the wet mixture and place on the hot pan. Add as many dipped slices to the pan as you can without any of the sides touching. Once that side begins to brown (about 2 minutes), flip to the other side and brown as well. Repeat this process until you have run out of either bread or wet mix.
– Top your French toast with berries, powdered sugar, and/or syrup and ENJOY!
